The World Dance Council have received from their Belgian Member the following Press Release.
The loyalty and solidarity with the World Dance Council and the great efforts they make for all dancers whether Professional or Amateur is an example to all who care about their Profession.
PRESS RELEASE
On Saturday the 14th of August the Belgian Dance Teachers Organisation BULDO, member
of WDC, held an extra-ordinary general meeting.
In a reaction to the start of an own training and education program, called BDS Ac, by the
Belgian Dance Sport Federation BDSF, member of IDSF, the BULDO decided with a very
vast majority the following two actions.
1/To start their own ballroom and Latin competitions for amateurs under the WDC
Amateur League.
2/That all members who actively support the BDS Ac will loose their membership, and
the benefits connected to it, without further notice.

On behalf of the Dance Sport Executive Board and the organisers of this year's World Dance Sport Championships - Professional BALLROOM Division, 2nd October 2010 in Canada, I would like to inform you that the new rule that has been adopted at this year's Dance Sport Committee Meeting in Blackpool, will be implemented at the above event.
Please inform your couples thereof. I have copied the added rule to this email as below.

Current Rule 1.5.4
Ballroom & Latin Rounds
In the Ballroom Championships & Latin Championships the 5 dances shall be performed without interruption.
Proposed addition to 1.5.4
In all Ballroom and Latin Championships one dance in each round shall be limited to the Basic Figures listed in the currently recognised Technique Books applicable to each style. The dances shall be drawn at random at the commencement of the competition by the Chairman of Adjudicators. (In a 5 round competition the Basic dance would therefore be different in each round, in a six or more round competition the order of the Basic Dances would be repeated as per the original draw.)

Assen 2009 Workshops
Dear visitor of the workshops in Assen,
Attached you'll find the timetables of the workshops starting on Monday. As you can see the lectures are in the afternoon and the private lessons are in the morning from 08.00 hours.
It is important to know that although we have made a schedule it is impossible to avoid last minute changes, therefore we expect you to go to our office on arrival and check for your personal schedule for the next day.
Since the number of lessons booked it is impossible to get a lesson that you missed on any other moment of the week.
We expect you to arrive in time for the lessons.
Your provisional personal schedule for Monday is underneath.

World Masters of International DanceSport Association (IDSA)
I sincerely congratulate all those, who take part in IDSA and DAT World Amateur Open competition, the organizers and not in the last turn the audience.
Der Bundesverband Deutscher Tanzlehrer e. V. undertook the running of DAT sports competition in twelve different dance trends and 23 IDSA World Championships, which undoubtedly is a responsible task, and promises to be a worrying event as well. As the fight for titles exists to attain the highest results in sports art, grace, elegance and accuracy get connected in an amazing way. Couples from all over the world show their mastery in more than 50 types of competition in different dance manners. Thus, for three days Mannheim will become a source, paradise for amatuers, experts and skilled dancers from every part of the world.
I want to thank all those, who were conducive with a great efficiency to the success of this sensational activity. I wish all the teams to get the expected sports success and the audience, too, to see an exciting and interesting competition.

The results of IDSA European Cup Latin which took place on 05 – 06 of May 2007 in Kyiv, Ukraine in six age groups: Junior I (Under 14), Junior II (Under 16), Youth I (Under 19), Youth II (Under 21), Adults (21 and more), Seniors (35 and more) within the framework of international open dancesport competition “Ukrainian Open 2007”.
In total in European Cup participated dance couples from 19 countries of Europe! (See Results and Protocols ). Also within the framework of this competition was held WDC World Professional Show Dance Championship 2007. (See the results of this Championship also here Results and Protocols). |

Constituting Conference of European Sport Committee took place on 18 th of May 2007 in the premises of the meeting hall of hotel “Premier Palace” took place the Constituting Conference of European Sport Committee. At the Conference were present representatives from 10 European countries who represent organizations on non-Olympic kinds of sports in their respective countries, i.e. from Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Israel, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, and of course from Ukraine. Delegates have approved the Statute of newly created European Sport Committee, and in the nearest future this European structure will be registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. Also at the Conference delegates elected Executive Committee. The decision was made to grant the right to host and conduct The Second European Sport Games in city of Siauliai, Lithuania in 2011. We all understand the importance of creation of such important European structure as European Sport Committee which unified kinds of sports which are not included into the program of Olympic Games. 2007 IDSA World Championship Latin
On 03 – 04 of March 2007 in Kyiv Sport Palace took place 2007 IDSA World Championship Latin in six age groups: Junior I (Under 14), Junior II (Under 16), Youth I (Under 19), Youth II (Under 21), Adults (21 and more), Seniors (35 and more) within the framework of international open dancesport competition “Parad Nadiy 2007”. In total in this Championship participated 305 dance couples from 18 countries of the world!!!

The First European Sport Games in Kyiv

2006 IDSA World Championship Ten Dance.
On 25 – 26 – 27 of August 2006 in Sport Palace (Kyiv, Ukraine) took place 2006 IDSA World Championship Ten Dance in five age groups: Juniors ² (Under 14), Juniors ²² (Under 16), Youth ² (Under 19), Youth ²² (Under 21), Adults (older than 21) within the framework of international open dancesport competition «Kyiv Open 2006».
Also on 26 August we could enjoy the performances of the best professional dance couples in the world during WDC Professional World Ten Dance Championship.
